Are you a flight school or do you offer flight lessons?

No. We are not a flight school and do not offer flight training. The flights we offer are conducted together with certified pilots or in cooperation with flight schools and flight instructors.

If there is sufficient demand for flight lessons, these can be organized in cooperation with qualified flight instructors or flight schools.

Is that a static line or is a boat pulling it?

This is exclusively a static line.

How much does it cost?

The costs vary depending on the location and level of experience. An individual inquiry is recommended. Airsurfing a boat is currently relatively inexpensive for experienced freeriders with their own equipment, at around €100 per day. Training is more expensive, as personnel and safety costs are correspondingly higher.

Can I participate as a group?

Group inquiries are possible. However, group sizes are deliberately kept small to ensure sufficient space in the airspace for safe learning and training.

What equipment do I need?

Equipment is provided according to experience level. If necessary, the latest FLARE kites (Prop, Moustache 1 & 2, Bandit) are available. For Airsurfing the water, participants need swimwear, a helmet and, if necessary, neoprene shoes or – in colder temperatures – a wetsuit.

Is the experience safe?

Fifty-fifty 😉, no—joking aside. Safety depends largely on the pilot. Ultimately, decisions are made by the person performing the task. Professional support is provided, but personal responsibility remains key.

What happens if the wind isn't right?

On a kite and air surfing safari in the Red Sea, this is not a problem, as numerous alternative activities are offered directly at the spot. On dunes or adventure trips, we wait until the wind is right; the meantime is used for theory or other activities.

What happens during an Airsurf-day?

The first step is to learn the flare system. For paraglider pilots, this is a new way of handling the glider, as it is not controlled exclusively by the brake lines, but primarily by the angle of attack. Newcomers—especially those coming from kitesurfing—often have the advantage of not yet having developed automatic braking reflexes. Every hour under the wing counts towards learning progress.

What requirements do I need to meet?

Basic physical fitness is important, as parakites are mainly used in windy conditions. Depending on the wind strength, quick coordination, spatial thinking, and multitasking skills are crucial.

Do I need any prior knowledge?

No. Airsurfing Parakiting also suitable for beginners. An introduction is provided before each session, and all exercises should be supervised by a professional. For people with no flying experience, detailed ground handling training is required to ensure safe handling.

What is the difference between airsurfing and parakiting?

Airsurfing on a static rope above water and describes the activity itself. Parakites refers to the overall flight system. The Parakites were developed over a period of more than ten years by the company FLARE (Skywalk/Flysurfer) and launched on the market in 2022. Today, the FLARE system is considered the third-dimensional revolution in flight sports.

What is Airsurfing?

Airsurfing a new type of flying technique that combines elements of kitesurfing and paragliding. Using a static rope and the power of the wind, the pilot lifts off the water and experiences a floating glide above the surface.
